On the back of the letters sent out to MPs, Andrew Walder at Tech Office is the latest office products reseller to have a visit to discuss Keep It Local and growing business in the Trowbridge area.
The Right Honourable Andrew Murrison spent a full hour with Andrew discussing local issues in what proved to be a very productive meeting.
Having spent some time talking to Nemo Office Club ahead of the meeting Andrew explained: “It was useful to have been prepared as I was able to supply him details of how unfair the business rates system is when comparing different business rates. We have a 1,922sqft unit here in the town and the rateable value is £38000. Twenty minutes’ walk (3 minutes in a car) away is a 4800sqft light industrial (trade counter) unit which is available at a rateable value of £18,000. What will come from that I do not know, but he seemed to genuinely listen – which is more can be said for his predecessor! – and is pro-actively promoting the town of Trowbridge, so our Keep It Local campaign very much resonated with his own beliefs.”
Andrew was also prepared and supplied his local MP with a Keep It Local badge which he wore straightaway, as well as visiting the Keep It Local website to find out more. Was Mr Murrison pleased he visited? By the looks of his Facebook post later that day he was!
